Not to be outdone by the Tunisians or the Egyptians, 120,000 Israelis are marching in the streets because of the high cost of housing and groceries. It's even being referred to as #J14, i.e., July 14, reminiscent of the dates attached to the Tunisian and Egyptian people's uprisings.
Israeli Army Kills Aspiring Journalist Mutassim Issa Udwan
I am sorry to resume my blog on such a grim note. According to Palestine Festival of Literature, Mutassim was an aspiring journalist. He was only twenty-two years old. He was killed by random fire and Israel soldiers pillaged houses during an early morning raid. In addition another Palestinian, Ali Khalifa was killed. Israel routinely raids Palestinian refugee camps and villages, ransacks houses and arrests young men. Ma'an News Agency provides more information.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 13, Section 2 states "Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country."
This blog advocates for the implementation of the Palestinians' inalienable right to return home and calls upon each and every blogger concerned about human rights, justice, and a durable peace in the Middle East to get behind the effort to advocate for its implementation. If you support implementation of this inalienable right, please e-mail me or leave a comment and I will link to you.
